Running Google Ads is no joke. Your money is literally on the line.
That’s why it is so important to choose a Google Ads agency you can trust to actually get you a return on your investment.
Otherwise, it can just as easily turn into flushing your money down the toilet.
Unfortunately, the latter is the most common situation.
Far too many people, Google Ads agencies included, have no idea what they are doing when it comes to Google Ads and just burn money on campaigns that were never going to work in the first place.
The problem is, how do you know who to trust?
What we’re going to do is briefly explain the 3 core components of running a Google Ads campaign, so that you understand how it works and how all the pieces of the puzzle come together, and then you’ll be able to make an informed decision.
The first thing you need to do before anything else is establish a strategy that has a high chance of success right out of the gate.
You can’t just put a bunch of keywords in and hope that you will make money.
You need to find the keywords that people who are most likely to buy from you are typing in.
For example, if you are a divorce lawyer, you’d want to go after keywords like “divorce lawyer near me”, not “what is a divorce”.
People who search these keywords have a far higher buying intent, so if you bid on these keywords you are far more likely to get a sale.
It sounds simple but this is exactly what most people get wrong.
Putting together a list of high buying intent keywords is a fundamental way to get your campaigns off to a good start.
Now that you are showing your ads to people who are most likely to buy from you, next you need to get them to click.
That’s where the ads come in.
The ad’s job is actually not to make the sale.
You don’t have anywhere near enough space to make a convincing sales argument.
The ad’s job is only to get the person to click it and land on your website, which is where you make the sale.
This is where so many other Google Ads agencies go wrong.
They don’t do anything at all with the website or landing pages, they just run the ads (usually to the home page of your website).
But the problem is that the website is at least 50% of the equation, and if it doesn’t do a good job at selling your service, you can forget about making sales.
This is why they get such poor results.
The ad just needs to get the interest of the person searching so they click it and go to your website, and then you can convince them to buy with the landing page.
Now the person is on your website. This is where you make the sale.
The website gives you practically free reign to do whatever you need to do to get this person to buy from you.
This means giving them exactly what they were looking for and convincing them that you are the best option they have for the product or service they need.
Do this right and you will be printing money.
Do it wrong and you’ll be burning money and walking around saying “Google Ads doesn’t work”.
Unlike most Google Ads agencies who will charge you a few thousand dollars in monthly retainers and lock you into a contract for 12-24 months (and usually fail to deliver results), we do none of that.
We work on a pure performance basis, meaning we do the work and you only pay for the results we actually get you, AFTER you get them.
Typically this is done on a pay-per-lead basis.
However, we will discuss this with you to find a deal that works in your particular situation.
We are not here to just copy paste a Google Ads campaign for you.
What we do is analyse your business first and foremost to see if running Google Ads is even a good idea to begin with and if it’s going to be profitable.
Once we have established that it is a good idea, next we begin putting together the strategy of how to get you the best results fast.
Google Ads is not just about setting up a campaign with a bunch of keywords, making an ad with a few headlines and description variations and hitting go.
If you want to do it properly and get results, it is actually an intricate marketing funnel that needs to be well thought out, congruent and lead users down a path of finding a solution to what they are looking for.
There are many elements that play a part in this, and we ensure that we set this all up so that you get the best results without having to spend all of your marketing budget “testing” (basically throwing at the wall hoping something sticks), and have the highest chance of success right from the beginning.

We are in the top 3 for over 470 keywords and ranking for over 10,700 keywords in total nationally across the US. If that's not the definition of "dominating", I don't know what is.AlicjaThe business name says it all, Dominate Marketing. Mateja and his team are experts in their field and it is so refreshing to finally find a marketing team that actually does what they say. Mateja has revived my website and ranked it much higher in a shorter amount of time. Thank you again Mateja.Unyte Management10/10 for Mateja. I highly recommend relying on him to elevate your business' internet presence.Sophie BloyWe started working with Mateja mid 2022 and were getting around 20 leads per month through our Google ads and website in the months prior. Mateja optimized our entire website and Google Ads campaign, which resulted in an increase to over 90 leads per month without increasing our ad budget. With the increased performance we were confident to spend more money on ads and explore running ads in new practice areas which allows us to bring in even more lucrative cases for our business. We highly recommend Mateja. He is reliable, full of great ideas, and gets the results.Kevin MageeOutstanding, Mateja revived our non functioning website back to page 1 of google. I had approached 3 other companies but Mateja stepped up and owned it and still goes beyond our expectations. We get so many comments from customers and the leads keep growing every month. Kev@AAwreckers (1998) Ltd.David SweasWe were looking to expand our service shop and our offering, going from two lifts to four in our new facility, and we hired Mateja to build a website and run our online marketing. Our previous marketing was focused on our manufacturing operation that sells overseas, we hadn’t invested much in our local service offering at that time. Over the 12 months after engaging Mateja, we had an increase of cars in the shop to about double our previous volume, and a noteworthy change in the mix across brands that we service. Mateja has been helpful as a one-stop shop helping us to market across several different digital channels, and his proactive ideas and content generation have helped us to keep up with shifts in the market.
The point of a website is to convert people into paying customers.
When we start working together, we will either build you a new, completely optimized website or optimize your current one to ensure that it does it’s job at making you money.
That includes everything from design to writing the content to building out the pages and putting it all together.
(And this website is yours to keep forever).
Google Ads allows us to put together a marketing campaign that is going to get you immediate results.
Once we launch the ads, you will quickly begin to see enquiries and sales, making you profit usually in the first 30 days.
Search Engine Optimization is the foundation of our system.
It is the longer term strategy that will ensure your business continues to grow without having to spend more money on ads.
As we continue to optimize your website, it will show up for more and more searches on Google, which leads to exponentially more business and a higher return because you don’t pay for that traffic.
As part of the SEO process, we optimize all aspects of your website as well as off-site assets such as your Google Business Profile.
There is no point of running an advertising campaign or doing SEO if people land on a website that does a bad job at selling your services.
As professional copywriters, we structure your content in a tested-and-proven manner that “pre-sells” potential customers that you are their best solution, making them want to buy from you specifically.
This gets you more sales and makes customers easier to close.
We set up all tracking of phone numbers, emails, form submissions, sales and any other conversion events so that we know exactly what kind of results you get.
This allows us to not only accurately report on the performance of your campaign every month, but also to optimize everything so that you get the best results.
What gets measured gets done, and we measure everything.

PPC stands for “pay per click”, which is a form of paid advertising campaign where you only pay when someone clicks on your ad.
Google Ads is a form of PPC, but PPC can also include things like Microsoft Bing ads, which is the second most popular form on PPC.
But, to put it simply, when someone says PPC they usually mean Google Ads.
Google Adwords is the same thing as Google Ads. Google Ads used to be called Adwords, but Google changed the name a few years ago to Google Ads. So if someone refers to “adwords campaigns” they are talking about the same thing.
Google Ads works by allowing you to select which keywords you want to show your ads for, and then paying only when someone clicks on your ad.
The benefit of this is that you can carefully select who sees your PPC ads, increasing the chances that you get in front of the right target audience and make more sales.
There are a number of different Google Ads campaigns that you can run, including:
For most service businesses, we recommend sticking on with search ads. Search ads have proven to be the most effective as they bring in the highest quality traffic, which leads to more conversions and a higher ROI.
A PPC Agency, also referred to as a Google Ads agency, is an agency that will run and manage your Google Ads campaigns and PPC campaigns for you.
The range of services offered by Google Ads agencies varies wildly.
Some Google Ads agencies only run the ads themselves.
Others, such as ourselves, not only do the Google Ads management, but also build landing pages (which involves things like copywriting) and take care of designing and implementing the entire funnel.
This can be a tough one.
While there are some good Google Ads management services out there, there are many more who do not know what they are doing, will deliver poor results and take your money.
It can be difficult to differentiate between these before you start using them.
However, a couple of things to look out for can include:
If they can’t give you a good answer on these points, it’s best to look elsewhere.
The amount that a PPC or Google Ads agency charges can vary greatly.
Most charge a monthly retainer which can range anywhere from $500-$2000 or more per month.
Some will charge a retainer plus a percentage of ad spend on top.
Others, like ourselves, charge on a pure performance basis, meaning you pay for the results we actually get you.
If you want to run Google Ads successfully, it’s definitely a good idea to use a Google Ads agency who knows what they are doing.
While you certainly could learn to do it and manage your own Google Ads campaign yourself, you will likely spend thousands of dollars learning, not to mention months of your time before you get the hang of it.
For most business owners, hiring a professional Google Ads management service to manage their Google Ads account makes a lot more sense.
If you have been with your Google Ads agency for 90 days and you are not seeing results, it’s time to change.
90 days is more than ample time to get some kind of decent result from a Google Ads account, so if they can’t deliver in this time frame then chances are very high that they don’t know what they are doing.
The cost of Google paid ads varies wildly from industry to industry.
In some industries, the cost per click can be as low as $1.
In other industries, the cost per click can be as high as $30 or more.
This is something we will advise you on before we start working together, to work out if it will even be profitable to run Google Ads in your particular industry.
In most cases it is, but there is the odd situation where it does not make sense to run Google advertising due to the costs.
You’ll need at least $2000 in ad budget to start with.
While it is possible to work with less, in most cases it is not enough to get any real data to work with, so it’s closer to gambling and hoping it works right out of the gate (which it does in most cases).
In order to make sure you have success, you need a bit of room to work with, especially at the beginning, to find out what works best and then focus in on that.
If you can’t at least spend $2000, then Google Ads probably isn’t the best option.
This is something we can advise you on.
The ultimate goal of Google Ads is to make a profitable campaign that you can run indefinitely by putting in $1 and getting out $2 or more.
So what you can expect from our Google Ads services is a campaign that will profitably bring in new customers or clients every month as long as you run the ads.
In almost all cases you will see your first leads within the first 2 weeks of launching a new campaign, and should close your first customer within 30 days.
This is dependent on the budget we are working with, as obviously, the more you spend the more you will get.
This is something we will discuss with you before starting, to give you a realistic expectation of the numbers we expect to see in your specific case.
Mostly, yes.
Google Ads is very controllable, and therefore the majority of the success depends on what you do with the Google Ad campaigns.
There is a small percentage that relies upon Google’s algorithm to correctly optimise things, but with enough time and budget this will always work out if you have done everything else correctly.
We firmly believe that the success of the campaign lies in the hands of the Google Ads campaign manager, which is why we price our service on a performance basis.
There are a number of things we believe make us at Dominate Marketing the top Google Ads specialists.
In most cases, yes!
Google search ads are often a very effective way for service businesses to bring in new customers consistently.
In fact, we have seen Google Ads outperform all other kinds of digital marketing for the clients we have worked with many times.
This is why we decided to focus specifically on Google search with our agency. It has a very high degree of success, especially when combined with search engine optimisation.
In a lot of cases, yes.
However, this depends on the specific industry you are in and who you service.
For service businesses serving retail customers, as well as some B2B businesses, Google Ads work extremely well.
However, for certain businesses that serve very specific clients, especially industrial or B2B, and where there is not a lot of volume, Google Ads is probably not the best option.
This is something we will advise you on before working with you.
Not in any realistic way.
There is some argument to be made that running Google Ads can impact search engine rankings, but there is no conclusive evidence of this.
Realistically, the only affect it might have is that it can impact the user signals on the website, and if Google sees that people who land on your website take the desired action like fill out a form, this could indirectly lead to better SEO performance.
However, the real world impact of this will be so low that it should not influence your SEO or Google Ads strategy.
The landing page is extremely important for the success of your ad campaign.
In fact, in our opinion, if you don’t set up a proper landing page, you may as well not run any Google Ads period.
This is because the landing page is there to sell your services to potential customers and convince them why they should use you over the competition.
If you don’t bother doing this, chances are you are going to have poor results and just end up burning your money.
